About this speaker
Ivan Lesende was born in Santiago, Spain. Since an early age, Ivan has been involved in helping the most vulnerable people in society. He arrived in the UK in 1995 and started working at the Lindsey hotel with his aunt, Isaura Abbas. Together they ran a bed and breakfast. They helped many vulnerable people to get their benefits, register with doctors, and open bank accounts.
Ivan has a BA Hons in Photographic Arts. He spent over 15 years working as a photographer, as well. After opening the Lodge, Ivan decided to spend his life helping others. He has been working for St Mungo’s for just over a decade. Ivan also helped develop City Lodge, another ground-breaking project to help older people in society.
