About this speaker

Gill has worked in homelessness for 16 years, for voluntary and statutory organisation in the East Midlands and London. Starting with 8 years in frontline rough sleeping and ‘complex needs’ services, she moved into service development and commissioning roles. In 2019, Gill developed an approach to learning from the deaths of homeless people which has been adopted as best practice by MHCLG and the Local Government Association. She is currently contributing to a book on Adult Safeguarding and Homelessness which is due to be published in 2021. Gill’s lived experiences have left her with a commitment to tackle the intersecting & systemic inequalities that result in homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
