About this speaker
David is an inspirational advocate for change working within the voluntary sector.
Having overcome the challenges of childhood trauma, substance addiction, mental illness and homelessness, as well as having been on active service while a member of the armed forces, David has chosen to take these experiences and turn them into positive actions to benefit others who may, or are, struggling with similar challenges.
David is the founder of Expert Link, an organisation that aims to bring hope and change to those effected by multiple disadvantages by amplifying the voices of lived experience to effect local and national policies. David is also a trustee of the London based homeless charity Thames Reach.
Prior to Expert Link David worked as a consultant for numerous organisations within the voluntary sector, as well as working with and advising Local Authorities and National Government. David has contributed to a number of research projects including co-authoring Hard Edges: Mapping Severe and Multiple Disadvantage in England, has designed and delivered training programmes for the sector and has made numerous television and radio appearances.
